My aunt (in California) is 63 years old and she has asked me to find a private health insurance for her. I was informed that anyone that's over 62 can't have a private insurance and MUST only use Medi-cal or Medicaid. Is that true? She asked me to check with Aetna, Blueshields, UHC, etc. Any thoughts whether she can get a private insurance from these companies?

In 2004, I saw a car that I wanted to buy at a Nissan car dealership and I took out a loan. At the time I didn't know anything about insurance. It was all greek to me. I was very young and had no one to help me out. Anyway, I went to American Family Insurance and the agent seemed very nice. I told him that I wanted to buy this car and before I could finalize everything I had to show proof that I had full coverage on the vehicle. He told me that I most definitely had to get full coverage and I signed the paperwork, gave him a check and my insurance coverage started. I NEVER CHANGED MY COVERAGE!! (Let me make that clear). So 1.5 years later my car slid on the ice and another lady thought she could speed to get around me and she instead hit me. The officer stated that none of us were at fault because I was sliding when I should have been in control of my car and she should have never tried to pass me so we would each be responsible for our own damage. Right away I called my agent and he later called me back and stated I didn't have collision coverage and I would have to pay out of pocket for my damage. Again, I didn't know anything about insurance and I had totally forgotten that collision was required so I believed this guy. I left it at that but was very upset with him because he stated that I didn't have collision coverage and I told him that as a professional insurance agent, he should have told me that I needed full coverage on this practically new car!!! So, 6 months later, it was still bothering me and I left him. The car wasn't drive-able (I had to pay $600 just to fix something with the wheel mount) and then it was drive-able but there are dents in the car and damage that equals $2,000 to fix. That may sound cheap to some of you but it isn't to me. Just 3 days ago, I was telling this story to someone and they told me that I should have had full coverage on the vehicle and I should look into this. I called American Family and a lady is doing some investigating because she could see I had insurance on my car in 2004 but didn't know what kind. But, she confirmed that my car was under a lien and the insurance agent would be required to put me on a full coverage in the state of Wisconsin. So, this lady stated she would call me back on Saturday. In a perfect world, she could state either 1). You had collision coverage at that time and your car will be fixed at our expense or 2.) Your agent never put you on full coverage. Come Saturday, what if she says that it turns out my agent never put me on full coverage? Isnt he at fault? Everyone (including their own company) states he should have known to put me on full coverage! So, can I try suing the company? Im thinking even though the lady was really nice and told me that my insurance agent should have known better that Ill hear something from them stating that their computer system shows that I was a client in 2004, but they dont know what type of coverage I was on. Did not want to renew the car insurance, they did it anyway.?

Our car insurance was expiring on the 28th of may. We had all the premium paid by the end of march. At the end of april we got rid of the car. Couple of days later we received renewal documents from the insurance company. We have been with those company for 2 years, we didn' t make any claims. For the past 2 years we were paying 102 pounds a month. The renewal documents were saying that we only got the 1 year NCB and that our monthly instalment is going to be 140 pounds a month. I rang them on the 6th of may and said that first of all we have 2years of NCB and we want the documents from them proving that , second of all I have asked how come the instalment went from 100 pounds to 140 pounds a month the nice guy explained that there was a mistake (in their system 1 year of NBC was showing) and now it has been sorted and we are going to receive the proof of 2 years NBC and the monthly instalment is going to be 100 pounds. I thanked the guy and said that we do not wish to extend the insurance and I am only waiting for the 2years of NBC. He said ok and I thought it was sorted. We went on holiday abroad on 21st of May and got back on the 7th of June and imagine my surprise when in the post I have found the letter from insurance company with the certificate of insurance enclosed and them thanking me for deciding to stay with them and saying that my monthly instalment is 130 pounds!!! (because apparently i decided not to the the brakedown cover that i had before!!!!) I decided to call them first thing in the morning, but befor I did it i checked my account and of course they have already debited it with 130 pounds. I called them and the woman there explained that they were never informed of not extending the policy and that of course they have it registered that i phoned on the 6th of may with questions but they called me and left a message on my voicemail and apparently i never rang them back. She explained that all I have to do is to send the certificate of motor insurance back and then i will get the money. So i did. Once they got it they rang me saying that now they want the proof of selling/scrapping the car, WHY???I do not think it is any of their business. Especially that as far as I am concerned I am not cancelling the policy , I never wanted it. It is all their fault they did not listen. Last year around September I made the grave mistake of letting a friend borrow my car to see his girlfriend and he claimed to have just gotten his license and it was supposed to come in the mail within the next week. I believed him and it's my fault, no question about that. He got pulled over and the cops gave him a ticket for no proof of insurance. And because he didn't have a license, they impounded my car for 30 days, but if he had gotten his license within that time, I could've retrieved my car earlier, but he was not cooperating. To make a long story short, I paid 1,500 out of my pocket to release my car from the impound lot, and my car was insured at the time but he was too dumb to find it in my glove compartment and got a ticket for 2,000. He now wants proof of insurance to dismiss the ticket but I'm not giving him it until I'm reimbursed for the impound fees. My son passed his driving test this week, he is 17.5 yrs old. Just had a car crash on the 02/03/2014 at 8:20am crashing into a central reservoir fence accidentally, judging by the aftermath of the accident it's definitely an insurance write off. A week before this incident I had recently got my rear windows tinted (only light smoke) plus got alloy wheels put on but i didn't let my insurance aware of this (i planned on letting them know eventually but i didn't know i was going to crash so soon) Apart from this everything else is legit.. I am currently insured with Zurich just wondering will Zurich insurance still pay me out the value of my car or will I not get a penny ?

I got into an accident on 12/ 15. since then i havnt drove my car bc its not fix or its just waiting for it to be junked. and my monthly payment goes out on about the last week of each month. (my payment goes electronically from my bank ) so on 12/29 they took the monthly payment of december. and then in jan 28, it took another payment even though i wasnt driving the car. my insurance expires this coming march. so do i continue to pay till march even though the car is not used?
